Cloud is no longer an unknown or risky business, but an essential technological innovation that is a game changer for African businesses. “Through cloud solutions we are enabling companies to design their back office efficiently and deliver innovation across the business,” said Dee Houchen or Oracle (a platinum Finance Indaba partner) in a recent interview. At the Finance Indaba Africa all cloud providers will be present, giving South African finance professionals an unparalleled opportunity to compare offerings and learn.
“The trend is that finance takes an on an increasingly broad role as information manager in an organisation,” says Melle Eijckelhoff, founding director of CFO South Africa and organiser of the Finance Indaba Africa. “This includes business intelligence (BI), but also the collection and interpretation of data round risk, governance and compliance. More and more tasks and responsibilities are added to the finance team, which – at the same time – is also regarded as the conscience of the organisation.”
Indaba partnerships have already been struck with firms like KPMG, Old Mutual and Sage One, indicating there is a hunger in the industry for an event like this. “We would be happy if at least 5000 finance professional spend a day listening to presentations, visiting stands, finding their employer of the future,” says Melle. “It will be great place to make new friends and get a total overview of what’s out there in the finance space.”
The event will take over a whole floor of the Sandton Convention Centre for 2 days. “In the future I expect the Africa Finance Indaba to occupy the whole centre for an entire week,” says Melle.
